Please enter here a short biography of Bowlesmen no longer with us.

Donald Berton Head was born on February 18, 1928 in Petaluma, California and passed away on June 25, 2005.  He lived in Bowles Hall Room No. 505 from 1945 - 1949 and graduated with a Batchelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

He played football with honors for Petaluma High School and unop graduation from Cal he was the center for the semi-pro Petaluma Leghorns.

Don spent his entire professional career with the County of Sonoma and for more than 40 years was its Director of Public Works.  He was preceded in death by wis wife, Jane.  He is survived by his daughters, Allison and Elizabeth "Betsy", and two grandsons.

Don's roomates at Bowles were Alan L. Griffin who passed away in 1989 and Frank Dillard, Bruce Edson and Don McCaw, all of whom are members of the Alumni Association.

Don was a great roommate and remained a close friend.  He and his surviving roommates together with Don Leddy, a Bowlesman who, I believe graduated in 1948 and is also a member of the Alumni Association.

Don McCaw, '49
